The
Division of Nephrology at children’s Hospital ali
asghar provides nephrologic care of children and
offers expert
diagnosis-treatment of all types of nephrologic
disorders in neonates, infants, children and
adolescents. Our division of pediatric nephrology is
a tertiary referral center and one of the largest
pediatric nephrology services in Tehran, Iran. There
are approximately 60 outpatient visits and 15
admissions each week at ali asghar children
Hospital.
Ali asghar children Hospital’s high patient volume
provides clinical exposure to wide spectrum of
conditions and unusual cases. Our
Dialysis service evaluates and monitors children in
need of and receiving all forms of dialysis.
The
renal pathology laboratory and electron microscopy
laboratory offer specialized procedures for the
diagnosis of native and transplant kidney biopsies,
including renal biopsy pathology, direct
immunofluorescence and diagnostic electron
microscopy. More than 700 cases of renal biopsy were
performed in Ali asghar Hospital.
Our program in renal transplantation provides
outpatients evaluation and follow up of pediatric
candidates for renal transplantation. There are
approximately 15 outpatient visits per week and 4
admissions for renal transplantation each month.
Labafinejad Hospital is experienced with living related
and unrelated organ donor. This
Hospital is the largest pediatric renal
transplantation in Iran that more than 500 pediatric
transplantations were performed in this center. Our
training program provides the education for medical
students, residents and fellows. To date, 14
fellowships in the field of pediatric nephrology
have graduated from Ali asghar children Hospital.
Hasan
Otukesh is a professor of pediatric nephrology and
transplantation at Iran University. He is the chief
of the division of pediatric nephrology at aliasghar
children Hospital, director of resident and
fellowship training program and one the most
important researcher of pediatric renal
transplantation in Iran.
Our
urology team in Ali asghar children and labafi Nejad
Hospitals is one of the most experienced groups in
Tehran,
Iran. Farzaneh sharifi aghdas is an associate
professor of urology at Shaheed Beheshti University
of medicine. She is one of the most important
pediatric urologists at labafi Nejad Hospital, and
one of the directors of resident and fellowship
training program and in her spare times an English
poetess.
The urology team visits over 70 outpatients and
manages an average of 7-10 operates operations in
children over a week. Operations include different
methods of endoscopic and open antireflux surgeries,
pyeloplasty, ureteral reimplantation, Augmentation
cystoplasty, Percutaneous nephrolithotomy, urinary
tract anomalies and malformations such as
hypospadias, Extrophy-epispadias syndrome. More than
400 laparascopic pyeloplasties were performed in
labafi nejad hospital, most of which were performed
in children.
An average of 10-15 children undergoe urodynamic
study per week and 10 undergo ESWL treatment for
urinary tract stone each week.
To date, 15 fellowships in the field of pediatric
urology have graduated from labafi Nejad Hospital.
